Are there any recent caselaw examples regarding children with severe behavioral problems being denied attendance on school field trips? Are there any legally viable statements that should be included in IEPs that indicate a student (for example with Down Syndrome or general misbehaviors – not following staff directives, refusing to stay with group, etc.) will be expected to abide by all school/district behavioral expectations or will not be able to attend school field trips as their behavioral challenges are a safety concern?
